The only way I can talk about submission is in a marriage context because marriage is compared to the relationship we have with God. Submission is accepting or yielding to someone superior or the authority of another person or in simple terms putting someone else needs before your own. We are to submit to God and lay down our lives and die to self-daily that is how submission looks like also in the context of marriage.
Submission is only submission when you practice it or act on it, therefore you have to practice submitting to God in order to experience how transforming it can be in your life. (Ephesians 5:22-33) mentions “For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.”
When it is said wives submit “as unto the Lord” in (Ephesians 5:22) it emphasizes that this submission is not subjected to a human authority but it is far greater and a spiritual act rooted in obedience to God’s design for marriage.
Submission is not about inequality or dominance; rather, it is a beautiful expression of love, respect, and partnership. When a wife willingly submits to her husband, she is choosing to trust his leadership, support his decisions, and honor him as the head of the family, does that not speak so much of the relationship we have with God? Yielding to one another also helps us to take accountability of our actions and what has been entrusted to us. See (Ephesians 5:27)
In embracing the principle of submission in our relationship with God and marriage, we can experience a deeper level of intimacy, unity, and fulfillment. It also fosters a sense of security and cooperation that can help you stand through any storm and strengthens the bond you have with God and in the case of marriage both husband and wife.
By practicing submission, yielding to God’s authority it creates the fear of the Lord therefore your faith will stand the test of time. (1 Corinthians 11:3) “But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God”

When it is said wives submit “as unto the Lord” in (Ephesians 5:22) it emphasizes that this submission is not subjected to a human authority but it is far greater and a spiritual act rooted in obedience to God’s design for marriage.
When we submit it does not show a form of weakness but it shows that we can be great with submitting our lives to God. (James 4:7) “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you”
